ENTIRE TOWN BOIL WATER ADVISORY STILL IN EFFECT
Good morning residents, The water pressure at all locations on the town system should be back to normal. If you pay your water bill to the Town of Abita Springs, you are on our system. You have been affected by the advisory. We continue to be under a Boil Water Advisory until testing can be completed. This is a Precautionary Boil Water at this time while testing confirms the safety of the drinking water. Do not drink any water without boiling it first. Boil water for 3 minutes and let it cool before using or use bottled water. This should be done to water being used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, for consumption by pets and food preparation. Students at the schools in town will have instructions from their administrations on water bottle usage as water fountains will not be available. Discard all ice or water that has been made and stored after the break once the advisory has been lifted.
We will notify everyone immediately upon receiving the test results. Please sign up for Emergency Emails at townofabitasprings.com for updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding, The Town of Abita Springs

ENTIRE TOWN BOIL WATER ADVISORY
Dear Residents,
Today, January 27, 2022, a contractor broke a 6" water main. Due to the size of the break, we lost water pressure quickly and have to issue a Boil Water Advisory.
We will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore water today.
After repairs are completed, water samples will be collected and tested by the Louisiana Office of Public Health Laboratory. A precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect until rescinded by the Louisiana Department of Health and the Town of Abita Springs Water Department.
Customers in the affected area should treat all water for drinking or culinary purposes by boiling water for one (1) minute in a clean container. (The one-minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil).
We appreciate your patience and understanding while our water supply personnel are working diligently to restore the system to normal operation as quickly as possible. It is our top priority that The Town of Abita Springs supply quality safe drinking water to all.
For additional information please call 985-892-0711.
Thanks,
Public Works Department
Town of Abita Springs
