Public Notice Regarding Water Discoloration
The Town is aware that some residents are experiencing yellowing and sediment in their water. We understand this is frustrating and not what anyone expects from their water service.
The discoloration is the result of recent operational changes made to protect the reliability of our water system. These changes have disturbed naturally occurring mineral deposits in the pipes, which can temporarily affect water color and clarity.
Most importantly, the water remains safe to drink. All required bacteriological (BAC-T) test results have come back clean, and the system continues to meet drinking water safety standards. Residents may review the referenced BAC-T results for confirmation.
We are continuing to closely monitor and test the water supply while we work toward additional backup options. Our current backup well cannot meet full community demand on its own, so we are pursuing an interconnection with a neighboring utility to allow further evaluation and testing of our primary well. This interconnection may not immediately improve water color and could temporarily loosen additional mineral scale.
We appreciate your patience and will continue to keep residents informed as updates become available.
