HAZARD 1: Ice and sleet accumulation
AMMOUNTS: Highest accumulations over Southwest Mississippi where 0.1-0.25" of ice accumulation will be possible. Lower amounts generally below 0.1" for northern Florida parishes of Southeast Louisiana
WHERE: Areas generally along and north of a line from Grosse Tette to Baker to Franklinton
WHEN: Onset beginning from northwest to southeast now through 4pm, and lasting through midnight tonight
CONFIDENCE: High confidence in some ice impact. Moderate confidence in highest amounts and locations
HAZARD 2: Black Ice
WHAT: "Black Ice" forming on area roadways - mainly bridges and overpasses
WHERE: Along/north of I-12/10 corridor WHEN: Tonight
CONFIDENCE: Moderate confidence. Biggest impacts will be in areas where puddles remain after rains.
HAZARD 3: Low Wind Chills
VALUES: Wind chills in the mid teens and even single digits
WHERE: All of Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi, with coldest values in northern areas
WHEN: Coldest wind chills expected late tonight and early Saturday morning
CONFIDENCE: High
HAZARD 4: Strong winds
VALUES: Sustained winds 25-30 mph with gusts around 40mph
WHERE: Strongest winds will be around and to the south of Lake Pontchartrain and along the Mississippi Coast.
WHEN: Strongest winds will be tonight and early Saturday morning
CONFIDENCE: High
HAZARD 5: Freezing Temperatures
VALUES: Temperatures in the 20s for northern areas and lower 30s southern areas
WHERE: All of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi away from the immediate LA Coast
WHEN: Tonight and Saturday Night
