PARTIAL PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER ADVISORY

Dear Residents, This afternoon, September 9, 2022, we had a break in a water line. The areas affected are on the east side of Hwy 59. We are issuing a precautionary boil water advisory out of an abundance of caution. The boundaries for the precautionary boil water advisory are between the South side of Leonard to the North side of Walker and from the East side of Hwy. 59 to both sides of Sanders. Please see above map. We will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore water quickly. We expect water to be completely restored within the hour. If you live within these boundaries, please boil water until we can lift the advisory. Customers in the affected area should treat all water for drinking or culinary purposes by boiling water for one (1) minute in a clean container. (The one-minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.) Water samples will be collected and tested by the Louisiana Office of Public Health Laboratory. A precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect until rescinded by the Louisiana Department of Health and the Town of Abita Springs Water Department. We appreciate your patience and understanding while our water supply personnel are working diligently to restore the system to normal operation as quickly as possible. It is our top priority that The Town of Abita Springs supply quality safe drinking water to all. For additional information please call 985-892-0711. Thanks, Public Works Department Town of Abita Springs
