Planning and Zoning Public Hearing

The Planning & Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing to discuss the creation of a new zoning for Abita Springs. The “Institutional Zoning Classification” would be designated specifically for the type of conforming use such as, but not limited to, a Sewer Plant or Maintenance Barn.
Mr. Dupuy will seek a variance of the setback requirements from the Abita Springs P&Z Commission, to construct a new home on 7th Street. The lot has a natural drainage ditch running through it, which cannot be interfered with. He is asking that the rear yard setback be 15 feet instead of 30 feet and that the east side yard setback be 10 feet instead of 20 feet.
These requests will be considered by the Planning & Zoning Commission at the next meeting which is scheduled for July 31, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the Abita Springs Town Hall. All interested parties are welcome to attend.
