Child sexual abuse is a community problem. To be intentional about protecting children, adults need to come together and boldly confront the issue. The Children’s Advocacy Center/Hope House has become the lead organization for prevention efforts in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes and is pleased to offer Stewards of Children to community members interested in protecting our most valuable and vulnerable citizens – our children. The program drives home the point that abuse can be stopped in real-time!
Why do we need this program?
1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys is sexually abused before age 18.
90% of our victims are abused by someone they know.
319 children were interviewed for allegations of abuse at Hope House in 2018.
Child abuse costs our community 2 million dollars annually. ![endif]--
