10TH ANNUAL ABITA SPRINGS 2018 EARTH FESTIVAL
Saturday, March 24, 2018, noon to 4
ABITA SPRINGS TRAILHEAD
Entry is free. COMFORTABLE SHOES and SUNSCREEN recommended.
Festival is a rain or shine event. If there are dangerous winds or lightning predicted, decision to cancel will be made by 10 a.m. and posted on Friends of the Park facebook page or at abitapark.com.
Festival will include green vendors, information booths, activities for kids, food, live music, a tree and plant giveaway. The focus this year is on Pollinators and Clean Transportation.
Looking for a way to participate or volunteer?
EARTH FEST POLLINATOR PARADE:
Gather at Trailhead stage at 12:45, short parade rolls at 1 throughout the park.
BEE in that Number! Come march or ride your bike in the Pollinator Parade!
Adults and Kids are encouraged to come up with simple but colorful costumes such as a bee, butterfly, or dress as a flower or in super bright clothes.
Marchers and bike riders will be given seeds to “throw” instead of beads to keep it “green”- Seeds not Beads! Abita Queen Bees will gather at the Amphitheater at 12:45 and swarm the stage at 1 to kick off the parade. No registration needed. Parade Participants looking for service hours, please sign in at trailhead entrance at 12:30.

Text, call, or email Rachel Lambert 985-373-7922, bigmamalambert@gmail.com to sign up. It’s great to know in advance if you can make it, but if not come see us at the trailhead entry and we will plug you in! Volunteers meet at trailhead entrance to get your nametag and directions to assigned area.
Greeters, Activities and Friends of the Park/Keep Abita Beautiful Booths:
Shift One 11-1:30 includes help setting up
Shift Two 1:30-4
Beer and Beverage Booth:
Volunteers should be over 21.
One Hour Shifts: 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30
PLANT GIVEAWAY BOOTH:
St. Tammany Parish Master Gardeners along with local experienced gardeners will give planting tips and advice. Will Afton, St. Tammany County Extension Agent LSU, will be on hand at the booth next door to the Plant Giveaway.
Shifts 12-1,1-2,2-3,3-4. Arrive a little early to get acclimated.
