To all Emergency Managers in Southeast Louisiana and South Mississippi -
Here is the latest update on Tropical Depression 16. The main change overnight is a significant westward shift in track and increase in tropical storm force wind probabilities across SE Louisiana and S Mississippi. There is still a large degree of uncertainty concerning the track of the system over the weekend with Gulf Coast landfall possible from Southeast Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle. Tropical Depression 16 is forecast to become a tropical storm later today and a hurricane in the Gulf this weekend.
Outside of this tropical system we continue to deal with persistent moderate to strong easterly winds leading to elevated tides and marine impacts.
