PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of the Town of Abita Springs in St. Tammany Parish will be held at its regular meeting place in the Abita Springs Town Hall located at 22161 Level St., Abita Springs, LA 70420 on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 6:00pm(cst) and at a public meeting to follow at 6:30pm(cst) to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum. For Tax #5048001 (General Alimony) the estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from increased millage is $171,622.22 and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $2,401.83. For Tax #5048006 (Lighting & Park/Playground) the estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from increased millage is $65,504.66 and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $873.40.
