KEEP ABITA BEAUTIFUL needs YOU!

Congratulations to Abita for winning the district level CLEANEST CITY CONTEST sponsored by Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc. Our next “judgement day” for state wide competition is May 4 and we have a lot to do to prepare!

Prep day Wednesday April 26, 12-2 and 4-6 for anyone who would like to come help meet us in the overflow parking lot on Leveson Street across from the Abita Women’s Center for Healing and Transformation and behind Mama D’s, Ochsner, and the produce stand. We will be weeding, planting, spreading mulch and of course looking for litter. Wear work clothes and bring gloves if you have them. This is another chance to help if Saturday isn’t good for you, or if you are looking for additional hours!

SATURDAY APRIL 29, 9-11 a.m. we will be having a spruce up day and TRASH BASH!

Meet us in the trailhead park under the big white 1884 Pavilion.

We will have litter grabbers, safety vests and garbage bags.

Thank you again for supporting this cause! Please let us know if you plan on coming if possible. We will work unless it is lightning or really storming, wear rain-gear if needed.

Please bring any service hours forms and we will be happy to sign these.

For full-time post-high school students living in Abita working toward the Abita Springs Women’s Society Scholarship, this would apply toward service hours. geralynlips@gmail.com is the contact person, and they have the application online on their facebook page. We will happily send an original letter with KAB letterhead by request.
