Brief Update from the Mayor

We have begun to implement positive changes in our first thirty days. We’re taking the Farmers Market in a new direction and have contacted representatives from the community to serve on a Market Committee. Committee tasks will include working with management to draft improved guidelines.

Other projects include initiation of a contract review process. During this review, we have determined that our agreement with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office requires a six-month notification to terminate the existing contract terms. To ensure that the Town has negotiated the best agreement possible, we have complied with the notice requirements and hope to negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement.

Preservation of town assets are a continued focus. Resources have been allocated to address needed emergency repairs (click here) to the Town Hall and in the upcoming weeks we will resume the replacement of the roof.
