Easter Bunny

Don’t forget to listen for the sirens of the Firetruck.....the Easter Bunny will begin his ride around 9 am. The Fire Department will ride around as long as the weather permits. The Easter Bunny will be at Town Hall for 1 pm for the Easter Egg Hunt! Many thanks to Mrs Sherry Firman, who is absolutely incredible, and our wonderful Fire Department that keeps this tradition continuing.

Engineering Projects Update- March 2018

Jean Thibodeaux Railroad Avenue - Contractor has ordered material and construction will start when the material arrives. Appears that construction will be in April/May. Recreational trails - Project permit application is being review by the US Army Corps of Engineers. We expect to receive the permit in March. We are currently following up with the Corps to get an update. Abita Meadows - Currently in Final Stage Review and the majority of final stage comments have been addressed. Drainage maintenance - Developed plan to improve known problem areas with short term maintenance or develop engineering plans for more complicated situations. SEWER PROJECT UPDATE SEWER PROJECT UPDATE 3/8/18 StartFragment The Sewer project testing company will be starting on Level and Laurel St. Then they will move over to Keller St. They will be cleaning, CCTV and Dye Flood Testing. Dye testing with a non-toxic dye is used to confirm rain or ground entry points into the sanitary sewer system. Dyed water is introduced roof drain leaders, driveway drains, or area drains. In some instances, dyed water is injected into the ground around foundations to check for the illegal connections of foundation drains. EndFragment EndFragment EndFragment

Storm Debris & Understanding Green Waste

When cleaning storm debris you can put it in front your house to be picked up. Please don’t block ditches, culverts, mail boxes, fire hydrants, utility services or streets. Also, please keep drainage flowing by raking out and clearing any debris that is blocking your culverts or ditches. Understanding Green Waste: WHAT IS GREEN WASTE? Green waste is biodegradable waste composed of grass or flower cuttings, limbs and hedge trimmings, etc. Green waste piles are not to exceed 4’L x 4’W x 6’H in size and must be bundled.
