10TH ANNUAL ABITA SPRINGS 2018 EARTH FESTIVAL Saturday, March 24, 2018, noon to 4 ABITA SPRINGS TRAILHEAD Entry is free. COMFORTABLE SHOES and SUNSCREEN recommended. Festival is a rain or shine event. If there are dangerous winds or lightning predicted, decision to cancel will be made by 10 a.m. and posted on Friends of the Park facebook page or at Festival will include green vendors, information booths, activities for kids, food, live music, a tree and plant giveaway. Sewer Project Update- Pine Street

Sewer Project Update They will be continuing CCTV Inspections on Pine Street. This work identifies: Root intrusion Pipe cracking Offset joint pipes Corrosion Deterioration over time Poor installation or previous repair efforts Accidental puncturing Severe blockage

Engineering Projects Update- February 2018

Jean Thibodeaux Railroad Avenue - Contractor has ordered material and construction will start when the material arrives. Recreational trails - Project permit application is being review by the US Army Corps of Engineers. We expect to receive the permit in February, but they may be delayed until March. Abita Meadows - Currently in Final Stage Review and up for Preliminary approval. The majority of final stage comments have been addressed. Drainage maintenance - Developed plan to improve known problem areas with short term maintenance or develop engineering plans for more complicated situations. LDOTD utilities - Met with LDOTD to work with them on providing utilities for their Highway 36

Gravel and Grade Schedule

All gravel roads in the city limits of Abita Springs will be graded during the 1st and 3rd quarter of the calendar year. To report needed maintenance please visit our reporting page.

Trash Pick Up on Mardi Gras

Heads up residents: Garbage and Recycle trucks will run on Tuesday, MARDI GRAS DAY. So, if you are heading out to parades, make sure to get your cans out! And remember we are trying very hard to make our little quaint town LITTER FREE!

Announcement of Public Meeting

Announcement is hereby given that at its meeting to be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 22161 Level Street, Abita Springs, Louisiana, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Abita Springs, State of Louisiana, plans to consider adopting a resolution ordering and calling an election to be held in the Town of Abita Springs to authorize the renewal of an ad valorem tax.
