Water Pressure Advisory

The water should be flowing fine at this time. The problem seems to have been due to the usual demand of people running their water to prevent broken pipes. The town has not experienced any issue with broken pipes.

Engineering Projects Update- January 2018

Jean Thibodeaux Railroad Avenue - The contact was signed, and we are now issuing the notice to proceed to Kort’s Trucking. Construction is expected to start in February pending weather. Recreational trails - Project permit application is being review by the US Army Corps of Engineers. We expect to receive the permit in February. Abita Meadows - Currently in Final Stage Review and up for Preliminary approval. The majority of final stage comments have been addressed. Office Closed Monday, 1/15/18

Town of Abita Springs Offices will reopen Tuesday, January 16th at 9 am. All police, medical or gas emergencies should dial 911. All other calls dial 892-0711 and the answering service will forward your call to the appropriate on call employee.

Sewer Testing Update

Crews will be doing manhole inspections today. One crew will be starting on Indian Trail Rd. The second crew will start at the corner of 5th Street and St Joseph Street.

Christmas Trees Recycling Program

Christmas Trees Recycling Program Waste Connections will be picking up Christmas trees the week of January 15th through January 19th for use in a cooperative effort with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to rebuild the Big Branch Marsh. Please have trees curbside by 5:00 AM Monday January 15th. Trees must be stripped of all decorations —ornaments, lights, tinsel, etc. and the stands must be removed completely to be eligible for the program. Flocked trees cannot be accepted as they cannot be used for the project.

Smoke Testing Beginning

ATTN Residents: Smoke Testing To Begin For the next 2 weeks the town will be having the sewer system undergo Smoke Testing. This is the beginning of the analysis for the Sewer Project. She chose her husband as King, Dalton "Big Daddy Rat" Lambert. Parade judges included 17 year old Abita Springs resident and Project Runway contestant Tieler Garsaud along with artist/costumer Kellie Gironda and Trailhead Museum docent Jim Long.
