Cycling for Miracle League- This Sunday

The Abita Springs Trailhead Museum’s “Cycling for the Miracle League” event scheduled for Sunday, December 4th was cancelled due to rain. We have decided to postpone the fundraiser until later in the spring or early summer. Check our website regularly for all Museum-sponsored events scheduled. Smithsonian Panel Discussion

The Abita Springs Trailhead Museum invites you to join us for our Hometown Teams exhibit event “In the Press Box with the Sports Legends.” This panel discussion will be held at the Abita Middle School gymnasium on Saturday, December 10 from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Coach Bryan Gowland will act as emcee of the discussion and participants will include Mr. Ralph Menetre, and Coaches Jim Robertson, John Boudreaux, Michael Gowland, Donald Mathies, Greg Salter and Paul Paille [tentative]. Happy Thanksgiving!

Our offices will be closing at noon today to allow our employees to head home to begin preparations for their Thanksgiving dinner.  The offices will reopen on Monday, November 28th at 9 am.  For Police or Medical Emergencies, please call 911.  For Gas or other Utility Emergencies,  call 892-0711 (Town Office) and press 1 for the Answer Service.  We will have Emergency Staff on call as needed. Thanksgiving Office Closure

The Town Hall office will be closing at 12:00 noon on Wednesday and will be closed on Thursday and Friday of this week. Mayor Lemons and his staff would like to wish all you of a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.

DOTD and Cleco will be working to take down a tree on Hwy. 59 Monday morning, November 21, 2016. The work will be on the turn right before you enter the town of Abita, coming from Mandeville on Hwy. 59 (also known as Morgans Curve) and the bridge. Please avoid that area if possible. Friday, November 11th - Veterans Day On Veterans Day we honor all who answered the call the serve our country. Veterans Day: This federal holiday falls on November 11th and is designated as a day to honor all who have served in the military. Memorial Day: Celebrated the last Monday in May, Memorial Day is the holiday set aside to pay tribute to those who died serving in the military.
