    Q: What time does bingo start? How much does it cost? Can children come?
    A: Bingo starts at7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:00. Children under 6 may attend but need not play. Ages 6 - 12 must play at least a 6/10 pack... $7.00. Ages 13 and older must play at least a 12/10 pack... $15.00

    Q: Do I need a permit to have a tree cut?
    A: YES. The fee is $25.00, however, If you have a dead, dying or dangerous tree there is no charge for the permit. Please be aware, a licensed tree cutter is required. Contact the office for a list of licensed tree removal companies or for more info. Remember we do have four protected trees: live oak, magnolia, cypress and long leaf pines.

    Q: I live in the Historic District and want to paint my house a different color, do I need approval to do so?
    A: NO. The Historic Commission has no restrictions on what color you choose to paint your home. However, other alterations to the exterior of your structure could require approval. Additions, fences, storage structures and covered patios are a few examples of changes that require Historic Review.

    Q: Do I need a permit to build a storage shed?
    A: If your shed will be 10 x 10 or larger the answer is YES.
    Also if you live in the Historic District you will need approval of your shed before a building permit will be issued. Refer to the Historic Guidelines for more info.

    Q: How much are cemetery plots in the Town of Abita Springs cemetery?
    A: Plots in Cemetery No. 2 are $1000.00. The cemetery is located on St. John Street between 11th Street and 12th Street.
    Cemetery No. 1 has no remaining plots for sale by the Town of Abita Springs.

    A: Council is 3rd Tuesday of the month
    Historical/Planning & Zoning is 2nd Tuesday

    Q: When are my property taxes due?
    A: Town of Abita Springs taxes are now included with the St. Tammany Parish Bill that you receive from the Assessor’s Office, and are due the last week of December. The Town of Abita Springs passed a Resolution with this information in 2012. If you would like a copy of this information, please feel free to contact the office to make your request.
